Chris and Aubri are married!! It was so special to be surrounded by family as I photographed the wedding of my cousin, Chris and his sweet new wife, Aubri. These two are so in love and it is so obvious! Aubri had a precious first look with her dad. And Chris had a first look he was not quite expecting. THAT. FACE. Since Chris and Aubri didn't have a real first look, it was so sweet to see his reaction when she walked down the aisle and they saw each other for the first time. After the ceremony, we braved the drizzle to get some outdoor shots of the newly wed couple! I've said this about them every time I've shared their photos, but these two never stop smiling. They are SO in love. Chris and Aubri, thank you for trusting James and I to capture this day for you.
It was such an honor! Love you guys, and best wishes for all the happiness ahead on this new adventure!

I met Courtney and Cody back in March (you might remember their senior pup, Betty, here: courtney-cody-engaged.html ) and I've been looking forward to their wedding ever since! They were so laid back and so much fun to work with. Courtney was seriously the most chill bride EVER. James and I had a great time capturing this beautiful day! Details are my faaaaav and I can't get over how perfect these were. Courtney did a first look with her dad and it was the sweetest thing. If you look really close, you can see a tiny tear in one of these photos. :') And then, of course, the first look between the bride and groom. I totally understand why some people don't want to do one, but I am a FAN. Zoom in to see such sweet emotion on Cody's face when he sees his beautiful bride! They read their vows privately to each other after their first look and MAN. It was such a magical scene. Beautiful light, leaves falling all around them. Wow. I cried at least three times during this wedding, and that moment was one of them. Photos could not do it justice. This ceremony location was a dream. The light, the leaves, the love. All of the heart eyes. The Black wedding was an absolutely beautiful day and we were so happy to be a part of it. James even mentioned how even though we met most of the people for the first time that day, everyone was so sweet, welcoming, and close-knit that it felt like we were truly a part of the party.
Cody and Courtney, we wish you so much happiness in this new adventure! It was such an honor to document this wonderful day! It was such an honor to shoot the beautiful wedding of Kyllian and Kara Mobley! This will be a long one because I am good at over-sharing and there's just so much good to share here! This sweet couple got married in a gorgeous venue built in 1916. It has SO many stunning details and it was the perfect backdrop for Kara's vision. Speaking of details, they are one of my favorite parts of any wedding and these did not disappoint! Kara nailed the vintage look she was going for with her pearls, burgundy, and rose gold accents. And now allow me to share way too many photos from their first look because it is just too darn precious. At this point, I finally stopped creeping through the foliage to let them have a few minutes alone, and then I came back for them to model and look like movie stars. Like I said, I'm a sucker for good details. I couldn't get over these floral ties worn by the groomsmen. Ladies and gents, marry someone who looks at you the way Kyllian looks at his beautiful bride. Pure love. Kara and her dad did their secret handshake right before he left her at the altar and it was pretty much the cutest thing ever. I'm not crying, you're crying. I love these looks of "WE'RE MARRIED" and also "IS THIS REAL LIFE?!" And then pure joy. There is always so much emotion in the first few moments following the ceremony. I promise I am almost done with this super long post, but I just loved so many things about this wedding. During the reception, current and former members from the chorus group at Kyllian's alma mater sang a song specifically for the new Mobleys. It was such a unique and special moment! I'm so glad I get to share the story of this beautiful day through photos. Kyllian and Kara, thank you so much for trusting me to capture these sweet memories! So by now, you guys are used to my two-years-late blog posts. Here's another one! I've been wanting to share this wedding for so long now, and I'm so glad I'm finally getting to it! Hope and Nathan got married almost exactly a month after James and I, so it was so sweet to be at their wedding as brand-newlyweds! James and our sweet friend Ellis assisted me at this wedding, and they were such a big help! Hope and Nathan had a GORGEOUS fall wedding in a state park in Middle Tennessee. It was also COLD. Like, 40 degrees. I don't know how Hope survived the day in her strapless dress, but she was stunning! The leaves at this location were everything you dream of when you think of a fall wedding. SERIOUSLY. So dreamy. This image of Hope's dad seeing her for the first time on her wedding day is still one of my favorites I've captured. So much emotion. And her bridesmaids' reactions were so cute! But I mean, obviously. Because this gal was GLOWING all day. How beautiful is she?! So here is where I'll interject and probably lose a lot of friends, but I have to admit I know very little about Harry Potter. I mean, I started reading the books when I was in elementary school and I really loved them, but then I got to one that was just a little too long and intimidating for my ten-year-old self, and I just never picked them up again. I know, I know. And I'm SORRY. But I'm just bein' honest. Anyways, Harry Potter is super important to these two, and even played a part in their engagement (which I will definitely have a blog post about at some point, because they were adorable) and in their wedding! Here's Nathan's "Head Boy" pin that Hope got for him to wear on their big day. Hope was such a radiant bride, and this ceremony was so sweet. Nathan's dad officiated, which made the emotion so raw and beautiful. Also, as you'll see below, he work a HOGWARTS ROBE. I told you, these two are super into Harry Potter. It was awesome, so unique, and so THEM– everything a wedding should be! Almost 1.5 years later and I'm still not over the leaves on these trees. More of those Harry Potter details I mentioned! And that beautiful cake! Hope and Nathan were such a fun and down-to-earth couple and I loved being a part of this day!
Thanks for trusting me to capture these memories, Mr. and Mrs. Powell, and I hope married life is the best adventure for you two! There are a lot of mixed opinions when it comes to first looks, but I am personally a fan. They allow the bride and groom to have a few quiet moments together before the day becomes a blur, and they can help alleviate some of the stress and jitters that come on this big day! On that note, this has to be the most precious first look ever. Drew was SO nervous to see Allyson for the first time on their wedding day. It was the sweetest thing. Still so emotional over seeing his beautiful bride! I loved assisting at this sweet wedding! Drew and Allyson's love is so evident, and I loved being a part of their big day! Back in September (before I was trying to maintain a blog!), I had the privilege of assisting at one of the most beautiful weddings I've been to! I assisted Jud Davis, along with Alanna Wallace (two very talented individuals- definitely check out their work) at a gorgeous wedding. The details and colors here were breathtaking! These little girls were so precious! I LOVE how the bright florals in this wedding pop against the black bridesmaid's dresses. This bride was absolutely stunning, with the most beautiful dress and cathedral-length veil. Most of my favorite shots are the completely unposed moments between the posed ones. Genuine moments are always the best, in my opinion. I normally wouldn't post a TON of photos from the reception, but this one was way too fun. There were some really sweet moments between the bride and groom. And between the bride and her father. And then there were some really fun moments. This crowd knew how to party. There was even a live band! These guys were way too cool not to share. I loved the experience of this wedding, which was so different than most that I've been a part of. Many thanks to Jud for letting me tag along! Hello, friends! You read that title right... 2016! Yikes. Looks like I'm a little behind! The wedding of Shannon and Nathan was actually the very first wedding I shot completely solo. Up to this point, I'd had many people ask me to shoot their weddings, but honestly I was so afraid of the responsibility! I always used the excuse of, "Oh, my camera isn't good enough, I really can't shoot your wedding, but I'd love to do your engagements!" To be fair, my old camera really couldn't handle anything less than beautiful sunlight without my photos getting ridiculously grainy, but I totally used it as a crutch to avoid what I was afraid of, too. I finally realized that I was just making excuses, which was unfair to myself and potential clients, and also just REALLY bad for business. I decided to save up for a better camera and take the leap the next time I was asked to do a wedding, and along came these two! I had served as a second shooter many times before, but this was the first time I was completely on my own. If anything went wrong, it was completely my fault. If I'm being honest, I was terrified! Luckily, this sweet couple was super laid back and a ton of fun. I'm so thankful they trusted me to capture this day for them! Since I didn't have a blog going back when I shot this beautiful day, now seemed like as good a time as any to finally create this little post about it. Shannon and Nathan wrote their own vows the day of the wedding. It was so sweet to watch the emotions as she penned these heartfelt thoughts! Okay, this was seriously one of the funniest moments I've seen at a wedding. Nathan was the only one who wasn't in on this joke. Don't worry, they did tell him at the very end. Haha! I'll be blogging about other weddings I've done in the near future, so be on the lookout for those!
Thanks for your patience and support as I explore this new outlet of sharing my work! |
